People often forget how complex it is to make a piece of clothing, let alone a meter of fabric. There are countless production steps that have been taken before you can even buy your favourite T-shirt, bra or legging. All of RectoVerso’s production is exclusively done in Belgium by Liebaert textiles.
It all starts with the raw materials such as Elastane, Nylon and Polyester. These raw materials are then knitted and woven into fabrics and narrows in our knitting and weaving department which is the heart of Liebaert’s technology and know how. The quality of our products is not only determined by our production process but also by the quality of the fibres we use. For this reason we only buy from the best European suppliers. Once the fabrics and narrows have been dyed or printed and thoroughly inspected, they’re ready to be processed in our confection department.
The cutting patterns of each piece are generated automatically and placed like a puzzle in a file optimising the placement of every piece to minimize waste.
The patterns are cut with lazer for optimal precision and speed, and bundled in individual “packages” and forwarded to the sewing department to be constructed.
This is where the product starts to take shape. Each piece is carefully sewn together using tried and tested techniques.
All of our products are given a final check for construction errors or other irregularities. This to ensure the quality of the product. The garment is given a quick ironing and packaged carefully before being stored in our stock.
Our entire production process has been designed and corrected to meet the highest sustainability requirements. We only have one planet, and we feel responsible to take care of it. Today, Liebaert is one of the only companies in the industry to have an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certificate. To find out more about our sustainability measures click here.
